Christmas Play and Party Info.

Christmas Play
Our Christmas play will be held on December 19th at 10:00 am in the cafeteria. Parents and Grandparents are invited. Ideal Graphics is donating long sleeve green t-shirts to the 2nd and 3rd graders. We will wear these shirts and blue jeans on the day of the play. Some of the students will need to be dressed in costumes. These students are listed below. I will also be sending home a note with these students. If you have any questions, please let me know. Your children are welcome to leave with you after the play if you would like.

Dane - Santa
Emily and Hailee - elf
Anna, Sarah, Ensley - angel
Mari Grace, Mickenzie - Carolers

Christmas Party
Our Christmas party will be December 20th at 9:00 am. Since it will be in the morning, I am asking for breakfast type foods. If you would like to bring something for our class, please let me know what you are bringing so that we do not have too much of one thing. I will be providing hot cocoa for the class.

We will eat and then open gifts. Your children are welcome to leave after the party if you would like.

Gifts
Each child will need to bring a gift by December 13th. The girls will bring a gift for a girl and the boys will bring a gift for a boy. As the gifts are brought in, I will number them. On the day of our party the students will draw a number to see which present they will get. The boys and girls numbers will be separate. Please make sure to include a tag on your gift with who it is from (please do not put who the gift is to). The limit on the price of the gift is $10-$12.

Christmas Tree

I was wondering if anyone had a small artificial Christmas tree that I could borrow to use in our classroom. (I have one in storage that I normally use but I have no idea where it is right now or if I can even get to it.) I would also need lights for the tree if it is not pre-lit.

I am asking that each child bring an ornament to decorate our tree. Please make sure to put their name on the ornament so that I can return it to the right person. This does not have to be a new ornament. It can be one that you already have at home that they would like to bring to school. I will send all the ornaments back home the day of our Christmas party. I am asking for all ornaments be on the tree by the Friday after Thanksgiving break (December 6).

We will have our Christmas party on December 20th, but I am not sure of the time. As soon as I find that out I will let you know.

I will post about our Christmas party, play, and how we will do presents for our party after Thanksgiving Break.

Please check the homework folder for the corrected lunch menu and a price list.

I will try my best to explain the pricing:

Tomorrow's lunch is baked spaghetti, steamed broccoli, whole kernel corn, tuna salad, and chicken sandwich. If your child wants baked spaghetti, corn, and a drink it will be purchased as a KIDS Entree+1 side+1 drink for $4.00 plus tax. If they get more than a "kids" serving it will be $5.00 plus tax. If they want just the entree but  no sides or drink it will be $3.00 plus tax.

A kid's serving is one spoonful and an adult serving is a heaping spoonful. I will be watching when they are fixing their plates to make sure they are getting the right amounts.

If you have any questions please let me know and I will do my best to find out an answer for you. I hope we all get this figured out and running smoothly soon. We (teachers and lunch ladies) are learning so please be patient with us all!

Silent Auction and Canned Food Drive

This Monday will be the last day to turn in prizes for the silent auction basket. Please remember that everyone who brings in one Barbie or Hot Wheels item will be given 5 bonus points on a test of their choice.

Canned Food Drive
The canned food drive has started. If we are one of the top 3 school in the drive, Mrs. Sikes will spend one day on the roof of the school. You may send any non-perishable food item to help our school reach it's goal of being in the top 3!!!! We will be collecting items from now until sometime in January.
