Tests this week: (our schedule is different because of homecoming)

  • Wednesday: Spelling
  • Thursday: Reading, Math (Chapter 3)
  • Language has been moved to Tuesday of next week

Homecoming: Please bring a BIG pack of white tissue paper and $2 (for the other supplies) by Wednesday!!!!!!!!!!! We will work on the float Thursday. If you will be available to help, please let me know. We must be lined up behind the hospital by 5:45. Be sure to wear your ghost costume.
  • If you have a newspaper that we may use please send it by Wednesday.

Friday is a half day! Please make sure you have made arrangements for your child to be picked up by 11:45.

  • Thursday - Spelling
  • Friday - Reading, Main Idea and Details quiz
  • We will not have a Language test this week! We will have Social Studies and Science classwork grades this week.
Red Ribbon Week: 
  • Tuesday - Red Ribbon Day (wear red)
  • Wednesday - Sock It To Drugs! (wear red, crazy, or mismatched socks)
  • Thursday - Happy, Happy, Happy to be drug free! (wear camo)
  • Friday - "Team Up" against drugs! (wear a Pike shirt)

Wednesday - Halloween Costume Day (please no "extra" props with costumes)
Thursday - Homecoming T-shirt
Friday - Red, white, and blue

Our theme for our float will be "Spook the Falcons". We are asking that everyone dress as a simple ghost. I have explained that we would like a white sheet with eyes cut out. Girls may add a bow to theirs if they want. We are to be lined up for the parade at 5:45 behind the hospital. Please let me know if your student is planning on being in the parade!

The Sports Boosters will be selling BBQ sandwiches after parade. Your child will have an order form for this in their folder today!

Red Ribbon Week

Due to homecoming festivities the last week of October, we will hold our Red Ribbon Week at PLAS next week.  Each day's theme is listed below.

Monday, October 20 - I'm too Bright for Drugs! (wear neon or bright colored clothing)

Tuesday, October 21 - Red Ribbon Day (wear red...ribbons will also be provided)

Wednesday, October 22 - Sock it to Drugs! (wear red, crazy, or mismatched socks)

Thursday, October 23 - Happy, Happy, Happy to be Drug Free! (wear camouflage)


Friday, October 24 - "Team Up" Against Drugs! (show your Patriot Pride...wear a PLAS shirt)

This Friday and Homecoming Festivities!!!!

The cheerleaders have declared Friday as Ace Autauga and dress like a nerd.

Homecoming is just around the corner so here is a list of the dress up days so you can start getting outfits together!!! (October 27-31)

  •  Monday is dress Tacky Day
  •  Tuesday is Decade Day
  •  Wednesday is Halloween Costume
  •  Thursday is T-shirt Day
  •  Friday for Elementary is Red, White and Blue Day and 7-12 is Dress Up Day.

         The parade theme is Nightmare on Kervin Drive.  Parade is at 6:00, Bon Fire is 6:30 and Glow in the Dark Pep Rally at 7:00.  Teachers in grades K4 and K5 can dress in Halloween attire and grades 1-12 have a float.  This is Oct. 30th.
         
When we have decided what we are going to do as our "theme" I will let you know.

We will not have any tests next week due to it being a 2 day week. 

Fall Festival: We still need each student to bring in a bag of Halloween candy! Please send it in as soon as possible so the yearbook staff can begin working on filling the "goodie bags" for our Fish Pond. We also need more parents to sign up to work our game. Please let me know if you would like to volunteer!

Baby Items: Excel Club is raising baby items to donate to Save-A-Life for Baby Safety Month from September 29 through October 3.  To donate your items, please take the items to the main office or send them to me.
