School Picture Day

School Pictures will be taken Wednesday, September 4th. 


Also booster badges and tattoos will be sold this Friday for $1.00.

Math Test
We will have two math tests this week. One will be on Tuesday (tomorrow) and the other will be on Friday. I have looked over both of these tests and know that all students will do well on both of them.

Graded Papers

Graded papers will be sent home on Mondays in the daily homework folder. These papers will need to be signed and returned to school on Tuesday.

Important Dates

August 28 - Anna and Sarah will be bringing pizza and cupcakes to celebrate their birthday. Only a drink is needed.
September 2 – Labor Day (Holiday)

September 27 – Grandparents Day

Spelling words

I will add the spelling words each week just in case someone leaves the list at school or loses their list.

deck, tent, spent, fence, head, dead, bread, desk, thread, sweater, edge, bell, next, send, them

bonus words to study: ledge, chicken, dragon. (Study all three of these words during the week. I will pick one on Friday to use as the bonus word.)
We will also have a dictation sentence each week.

Homework

Homework will mostly be the same each week. The main thing that will change will be the math pages sent home. These will be sent home in the daily homework folder.

Reading: Read Angel Child, Dragon Child, study vocabulary

Spelling: Study spelling words

Math: worksheet or workbook page (depending upon the skill)

Classwork: finish any classwork not finished at school

Language Test

We will not be having a Language test today. We need to be a little bit further than what we are before we take the test. The test will be given next week instead.

Testing schedule

We will follow this testing schedule every week. If it is going to change I will send home a note with the students and I will update the blog.

Thursdays: Spelling, Speed drills

Fridays: Reading, English, 2^nd Chance for Spelling

*Math tests will fall when we end a Math unit. I will put the testing date on the blog when it gets close.

Welcome To Third Grade!!!

I hope you all are as excited as I am about the new school year ahead!!! I cannot wait to get to know everyone this year!

Just a few things that I thought I would mention to you before Monday:
1. Don't forget to wear tennis shoes in the mornings for P.E. (You may change your shoes when we get back  from P.E. but not before we go.)
2. Please be sure to send the large lunch card back to school. I will keep these in the classroom for them to use when they go through the lunch line.
3. Please remember to send back the paper work on Monday!! If you need to hold onto the page to be notarized that is fine. I just need to make sure I have contact information for everyone and know how they are getting home in the afternoon.
